Red Scallops

Got these cute pair of scalloped shorts awhile back but didn't know what to wear it with. Until just the other day, as I was getting ready for lunch....I opened up my drawer and both this top and these shorts were laying beside each other. I thought to myself..."hmm...this may actually work together." Sure enough I tried it on and VOILA! It worked! Don't you just love that feeling?

Tomorrow will be quite a treat for me as I will be doing a fun shoot with my long time friends, Kelly and Kat as their next Paper Doll. Paper Doll Theory is their blog if you want to check out what they're all about. They basically added a new twist to this blogging world where they reinvent one's wardrobes into a fresh perspective. I mean, have you ever had days where you looked into your closet and can't find anything to wear? or thought to yourself, "I've worn this..can't wear it again"...or "oh this top was soo last year, I cannot dare walk out the door wearing this." Well, I've had plenty of those days so I cannot wait to welcome them into my closet to give me new, fresh ideas on how to work my clothes.

Have a great weekend everyone! :)

Austin Getaway

Took a little quick getaway to Austin to visit my best friend for her birthday. Celebrated it at Lake Travis during the day. Rented some jetskis and a boat to relax in. Afterwards, we had dinner at good ol Trudy's then ended the night on 6th street.

Had brunch at Olivia's. OMG, I had a mouth orgasm after taking a bite out of my dish. I ordered the 6 oz. chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes + scrambled eggs. To top the meal off, my boyfriend and I ordered a shot of Virgin Bloody Marys.  My mouth waters when I think of it.

I came home with a fairly good tan, met new people and created new memories. Overall, Austin never fails to amaze me. I love that city <3

I cannot believe school is about to start up again. I have approximately 3 more weekends to enjoy with 2 vacations lined up ahead of me. Boston and Vegas, get ready for me because here I come!

Cake pops + Turtle's Bistro

This was my first time ever making cake pops. This is like the new trend to have for birthday parties rather than having a full on cake amongst my group of girlfriends. They go out and buy them for about $1.25- $2.00 per cake pop. Since I'm on a budget, I decided to look up how to make cake pops. I was inspired by my little cousin Andrea because she made some delicious cake pops not too long ago for a Food party. I surely saved a lot of money and it was absolutely fun making them. It took a lot of effort but I made it with love for my boyfriend's birthday.

His favorite cake flavor is red velvet so I made Red Velvet Cake Pops for him and used blue chocolate for the covering. Yall should give it a try! Take pictures and let me know how it goes!!

I also made a special candle light dinner for him and added my own little twist to it.

I customized a little menu and made it a scenario as if he was at a real restaurant. I made a 3 course dinner menu for him and laid out some warm fresh biscuits + cinnamon butter (I made it taste just like Texas Roadhouse butter) for him to munch on while waiting for his first course.

This is my boyfriend checking in on his phone at Turtle's Bistro. :)

I don't know how to cook but with the help of one of my close friends, she shared with me some of her recipes. I would love to be in the kitchen more and learn how to cook. If you have a special dish, please do share! :) Because my boyfriend would greatly appreciate it. haha

** If you're curious as to why I called it Turtle's Bistro....it's because that's my nickname for him since we first met. It takes me longer than others to do things, process things so he calls me his turtle. haha It's a small little inside thing between us 2.

Pink Tulip

tank top: target // skirt: h&m // watch: mkors

I'm so sad I didn't get a picture of my entire outfit this night. So sad! So I decided to wear this pink tulip looking skirt with a casual white tank top as I knew it would be extremely hot bar hopping at night. I paired this cute little skirt with a nude pair of heels. Everyone kept telling me the entire night that I looked like a flower pot. haha (*apologies for the funny facial expression to the picture on the left. My boyfriend was attacking me and these were the only 2 pictures of the skirt I had on)

So I threw boyfriend 2 special surprises on Friday & Saturday. Saturday night was celebrated with his friends at Hearsay Gastro Lounge. The decor was fairly different from other restaurants I've ever been in Houston. And the food was decent. I wasn't happy about the fish tacos I ordered however the beef nachos were amazing! I did enjoy boyfriend's filet and a piece of his chocolate cake they brought out for his birthday. :)

Beef Nachos

Fish Tacos

Filet

Chocolate cake

I had a really fun time getting creative and putting all these surprises together for him. I know he enjoyed it because all the many surprised facial expressions he gave me was so priceless!

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I will post Friday's surprise as soon as I upload the pictures.

Masquerade night

So at night, the girls and I thought it would be fun to prance around with a masquerade mask on. We all chose our masks, got dolled up for the night, had the best dinner ever at Acme Oyster House and boogied till the ee hours of the morning at Masquerade inside Harrah's Casino.

I found these super cute, lacey shorts a few weeks ago while shopping and saved it especially for this trip. I love the color of the shorts because it's so versatile. I paired it with a loose and flowy neutral colored top because I knew how hot it would be as I would be dancing aand walking around outside.

This weekend is my significant other's birthday and he has a lot of surprises awaiting him this weekend. Have a great weekend guys!

Weekend Getaway to New Orleans

So I'm back from my weekend getaway to New Orleans. This was my first time ever visiting this city and I was very impressed by how colorful and lively this town is. The old culture made this city so unique. While driving around to get to our eating destination, I was very intrigued by all the houses and how different they look compared to where I live. You'll notice some of the small details of the houses in the pictures posted.

Overall, I was not let down on this trip. The food was so delicious and the group of friends I went with definitely made this trip very fun. :)

Yoga anyone?

Night time outfit will be posted later. I've got a long day ahead of me tomorrow. Oh and yes, btw, I did get a haircut. With the heat, I could not stand the long hair anymore. I have head full of hair and it was just imbearable to deal with. Bye long hair, hello short hair.

It's a t-shirt kind of day

tshirt: marc by marc jacob // shorts: f21 // belt: f21

Sorry for the lack of updates. I've recently just started classes for an outdoor bootcamp so I've been extremely exhausted and busy with other events going on right now. I'm trying to really work out hard and get fit for my upcoming trips to Boston and Vegas. Although it's halfway through the summer, it's never too late to work on that bikini body ;)

Discovery Green

I took the boyfriend out on a little casual date to Discovery Green park in Downtown Houston. Since the summer started, every Thursday the park hosts a live concert out on the field for family and friends to come lay out on the field and just kick back, relax. This week though was the last week they were going to have a live band come out to play. It's unfortunate that we just heard about this from a friend last week. If I had known, I would've pulled my boyfriend out for a picnic every Thursday. Hopefully in the near future, they'll have more of this because we both found it to be very nice and relaxing.

So before I picked him up, I bought a few snacks for our picnic date. Bowser tagged along too.
